We are very excited to announce that Jo Rayson, our West Suffolk franchise owner has been shortlisted for Franchisee of the Year by Working Mums in their Top Franchise Awards.
Jo took over the flagship Little Squigglers franchise in Sept 2015, the franchise had been part of the local community for 4 years and had built up a great local reputation, with the previous owner (Little Squigglers franchisor Amanda Wigzell) having become very well known in the area. Jo has made a fantastic impact already and has not only ingratiated herself with the current customers but has built the customer base to new areas and grown the business too.
One customer, Jenny Mills, mummy to Rhona, aged 4 and Vida aged 7, who have been attending since the first Little Squigglers class, said ‘It’s like Jo has always been here, the class atmosphere is great and it still has the Little Squigglers feel, Rhona loves her!’
Not only has Jo managed a smooth transition when taking over the franchise but she has injected new life into it. She has been consistent in her marketing and has reached a large new customer base as well as increasing turnover.
In her first month of running the franchise she increased turnover by 1.5% from the last month of the previous franchise owner, she saw a whopping 50% increase in turnover from month one to month two and another 21% increase from month two to month three!
She has doubled the amount of after school club offerings and been taking a huge number of birthday party bookings. She has proved popular with customers at parties too, with frequent reviews being left on her facebook page:
“For my son and his friends’ joint second birthday we held a Little Squigglers birthday party today. We had so much fun. 21 toddlers were thoroughly entertained for the duration. Jo was totally organised and very thoughtful in providing age appropriate messy play and crafts. They each had crafts to take away with them, and have had an absolute blast. Thank you so much, we wouldn’t hesitate in booking for a birthday party again” Tracey Reinman
” I wanted to thank you Jo for the fantastic party you arranged for Eleanor last week. Ever since your first, extremely prompt response to my initial enquiry, you have been so helpful, enthusiastic and encouraging. I was very grateful that you were willing to run a party so close to Christmas and Eleanor loved her day. The Frozen theme was perfect for her, and the activities were gauged just right for the age of the children at the party. A few of the other Mums at the party have commented on how organised it was. It was so good not to have to think about that part of the day, as you took care of everything, and left the house cleaner than it started! I will definitely be recommending you to friends.” Laura Foreman
Jo has achieved so much in so little time, while still being a fantastic mummy to 2 lovely girls. Not only has Jo achieved so much with the business she has done it whilst suffering personal tragedy. Just as Jo was about to embark on her Little Squigglers training she sadly lost her mother, to whom she and her children were exceptionally close. Even during this difficult time she pursued her Little Squigglers training, with huge levels of enthusiasm and commitment. I am sure Jo’s family are very proud of all she has achieved so far.
Jo is a hugely deserving winner of franchisee of the year, she has done great things in the short time she has been with the company and I have every confidence Little Squigglers West Suffolk will continue to florish with her at the helm.
The winner is decided by public vote, you can vote for Jo above or click the link here:http://www.workingmums.co.uk/top-franchise-awards/vote/jo-rayson/
